For such a short
par 3 with a Stroke Index of 15, the 8th hole at Rouken
Glen has features that will punish those who are not careful
with their tee shots. As long as you stay straight down
the middle everything will go well but stray right or left
and you could drop more than one.
Bunkers on the left, two of them, could hardly be more difficult
to negotiate (getting out of them and staying on the green
is virtually impossible). Another bunker to the right of
the green, more or less on the green, often catches balls
that are well hit but just a little off center.
Go too far here and, again, you will regret it as your ball
invariably finds rough that will prevent any degree of control
with your next stroke to the green. |
