From the tee this 5th
hole at Rouken Glen, a par 3, looks and feels very much
like the 3rd; a short but steep uphill fairway towards a
plateau of a green. However, The stroke Index for this hole
indicates and acknowledges the difficulties that are present
here.
Less than athletic players will be glad to know that this
is really the last time you will be faced with a steep climb
up the Rouken Glen hill and, sadly, for most of us that
is the only comfort we take from this treacherous hole.
Hazards near the top of the hill are abundant and include
bunkers to the right and left, a lateral ditch on the summit,
as well as trees / tall bushes to the left.
Reach the plateau at the top, on or off the green, and excessive
slopes come into play making this one of the most testing
putting surfaces on the course. |
