| The
key remains to hit straight, between the two trees at the
end of the fairway, avoiding the bunkers on either side
of the green.
The inclination is to play a little longer than necessary,
rather than shorter, taking advantage of the mounds at the
back of the green, but this is not necessarily a good idea;
going over the mounds can often leave you a very tricky
third shot, with what little green there is to work with
sloping down and away from you.
Much better to leave yourself short, leaving you an up-hill
approach to the pin on a green that is usually in excellent
condition.
