Finally we have the
18th hole at Rouken Glen, an interesting and relatively
lengthy par 3. There are only a couple of hazards that come
into play for wayward tee shots here.
The burn around 60 yards ahead is probably the least of
your worries but, with this being the last hole (when tensions
are often running high), its presence can often be seen
to unsettle and lead to exaggerated and fluffed tee shots.
Best advice here is to contain yourself with a cotrolled
stroke straight towards the green. It is much better to
land short here than long, owing to the fact that the green
is raised and has steep embankments on its sides and back.
The green itself also slopes and plays fast down from back
to front so landing short and playing up the slope gives
more room for control.
