Here we see more clearly
the hazards that lie further down the fairway. The ditch
is probably the one that most often and tellingly plays
a part; it frequently catches tee shots that in normal circumstances
would be described as very good.
Looking towards the pin we see the various bunkers, trees,
and mounds that threaten to come into play, but, in most
cases where they do, finding a recovery shot onto the green
is not usually too difficult.
Overshooting is amongst the worst mistakes you could make
with your second stroke here, and there is a more nasty
bunker lying behind the green as well as a steep embankment,
but, even then, extreme cases aside, finding the green with
your third and leaving yourself a chance at making par is
still well possible. |
